I Secretly Plan To Marry David Banner...lol

LOL this is completely random BUT I will explain!

Anyone that knows me knows that I am the biggest fan of Stomp The Yard and Stomp the Yard 2 lol. The only thing I wanted for my 21st birthday was the Stomp the Yard 2 DVD (it was released on my bday.. *squeals in excitement*). I've watched it like, 10 times already and each time I watch it I find myself researching someone from the cast of the movie since they were all pretty much nobodies that I knew nothing about because I was unfamiliar with them.

Granted, I knew David Banner, but I was still compelled to read about him. He plays the "bad guy" in Stomp The Yard 2, but even in that, he was articulate. I looveeeee me an articulate, intelligent man lol. I've heard him in interviews too which makes me love him even more because he really presents himself well.

DID YOU KNOW?
  • David Banner has no kids. GASP! smh that that's even a gasp.. but such is the society we live in
  • He graduated from Southern University with a Bachelor's degree in Business
  • He was President of the Student Government at his University
  • He was pursuing his Master's Degree before discontinuing to pursue his music career
  • He received a Visionary Award by the National Black Caucus of the State Legislature in recognition of his work after Hurricane Katrina
  • He testified in front of Congress at a hearing about African-American media stereotypes. His opening statement was "I can admit there are some problems in hip hop but it is only a reflection of what's taking place in our society. Hip hop is sick because America is sick."  *2 snaps on this*

(All of these stats can be found on wikipedia)
HEEEEE better work! Granted, he does have a few nasty lyrics -_- he is actually someone that I feel the Black community sleeps on and doesn't support. He's an EDUCATED rapper who is trying to bring about change. Very FEW rappers (actually, very few Black men) are college educated, let alone college graduates!
*drops mic and walks off stage lol*

Hmmm... we need to do more posts here on positive Black men and women on here to counteract the negative images often seen in society. What do y'all think?
