I switched facial soap almost 2 months ago for no particular reason lol. I lost my bar of black soap (which I have since found, go figure) so I headed over to the healthy living store to buy another one. Rather than just replace the one I had been using, I figured I would try the African Black Soap with Shea Butter and Aloe Vera. I've been using shea butter and aloe vera on my hair as moisturizers, so I figured it only made sense to work on my face, right?
RIGHT! lol I really like this soap. Granted, it seems to have the same benefits on my face as the other soap, but still. One of the biggest complaints that I have heard about the other soap I used was that it stains your washcloth. This version of the soap provides the same benefits without staining your washcloth. The soap dries up my acne pretty well. The only breakouts I've had have been on a regular monthly schedule, if you know what I mean lol.
This soap also has a pretty pleasant smell. Granted- it doesn't smell like flowers, but it doesn't stink either. I can't describe what it smells like exactly, but it brightens my morning lol.
OH and one of the other things that I like best is that it is grainy which makes it a great exfoliator. Not sure what those little grains are (my guess is either Shea Butter or Aloe Vera) but they're great. My face likes to peel a lot in the winter so this soap takes off the dead skin that is "shedding" all while providing it with moisture through the Aloe Vera anddd drying up/preventing my acne.
PS did I mention how incredibly soft my face feels? :)
All in all it's a WIN! I give it a 5/5!

Hello everyone, I'm a female teen, who recently tried the African Black soap. I've seen immediate results within the first 3 days! My skin is softer, brighter, and already my skin tone is becoming more even. I don't use moisturizer after cleansing because I don't even need it. Because of the winter my skin gets a little dry after I go outside but the soap is awesome. This is coming from a girl who has tried almost everything. I struggled with acne for years and finally I see some progress. My skin type is combo.
ReplyDeleteGreat soap, leaves my skin feeling really soft and smooth. However, I will suggest using a deep cleanser first and then follow through with the soap.

ReplyDeleteGot this soap as a very from my son and I am so happy with the results. The oats in it gently exfoliate the skin while the shea and aloe do their job of moisturiser I couldn't be happier with how well it lathers and the refreshing scent I give this product a 10 easily
ReplyDeleteI ordered some ingredients and soap & melt white online - it was not pricey, so I really wanted to try making some soap and maybe even other cosmetics.
