Eco Styler Gel: Take 2!

*sigh* Not sure if I told y'all or not, but last week I was out looking for the Tangle Teezer (which all of the Sallys are still sold out of... guess I'll just have to order it online and pay shipping. ugh!) I saw that Sallys had the Eco Styler Olive Oil Gel on sale. It was 32 oz. for $2.79!

Since many of you suggested that I try it again on my hair along with the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie, I bought it. I used it last week to set my Finger Coils/Coil Out and then today I wanted to wash my hair so I did a wash 'n' go before heading off to teach.

I co-washed with Hello Hydration (I used it the other day as shaving cream so since I was running behind this morning and it was already on my shower caddy, I went ahead and used it.) and then sprayed in the Aussie Moist Hair Insurance. I can't seem to find my Jane Carter Solution Leave-In, which is my leave-in of choice. I quickly section my hair off with my alligator clips (or maybe they're crocodile clips lol) and applied the smoothie.

From what I've read/seen, the smoothie helps to tame the hair and moisturize it before applying the gel, thus lessening the crunchy feel. I think applied the gel over top of it liberally. I used a comb to comb through the ends of my hair to help the curls clump even more.

So, once again, the pictures don't do it justice but I'll give this go 'round 1 thumb up! I put a side part in it and ran walked out the door. I still have some crunch but not as much as the last time that I used it. One thing that I did notice that did not happen last time is that I can put my hands in my hair! I can play with the curls and even separate my hair without my hand getting stuck or feeling the crunch. It still has a soft feel despite some crunch.

Day 1 of wash 'n' gos are pretty good... the tough job is getting them to still look just as good the day after. With twistouts and braidouts, you simply re-twist or re-braid to maintain the look, but I'm not sure what you do with the WnG. I wake up and my hair is smushed to my head and feels dry and "buildupy" lol.

So I'd appreciate some help! :)

PS Can you tell how stressed crazy life is right now? I've been using products that I once tucked away in order to stop using and have pulled them back out out of sheer convenience... I just grab whatever I can find at the time and use it. I'm sure Freedom is probably feeling mistreated. Based on my checkout for the month, I may consider getting some extensions sewn in so I can put Freedom away until my life is back on track lol.
