I washed my hair last night with the Shea Moisture Brilliant Curl Shampoo aka Curl and Shine Shampoo. I did an oil rinse before finishing off with the Shea Moisture Restorative Conditioner. I then did "eenie-meenie-minie-mo" to figure out which Shea Moisture hair masque I'd use lol.
I decided to use the Anti-Breakage Masque from the hair care line targeted for thin and fine hair (which I don't have, but oh well). The masque smelled awesome and I can appreciate that it's not as thick as the Deep Treatment Masque. I sectioned my hair and applied the masque while detangling with the Tangle Teezer. As I detangled each section, I braided it up. After 20 minutes, I washed out the masque.
TIP: Braiding or twisting hair while detangling/deep conditioning helps the hair to stay detangled even after washing out the product. It helps to set your hair for your twist outs and braid outs too. I've done large twists before but the pressure from the water can cause them to unravel. I did not have this problem with the braids.
Just for fun, I added perm rods to the end of each braid. I lightly misted with the Shea Moisture Hold & Shine Mist. 'Tis all. I woke up, took the rods off and unbraided my hair. The results were much tighter and shrunken than I wanted, but that's fine because it'll make the style last longer as I re-braid each night.
My hair was super soft and the lingering scent of the masque was nice. I've been re-braiding in larger braids each night using the Hold & Shine Mist. My hair has been defined, yet soft and fluffy. I love it! This was my first time using the masque and spray and I'm satisfied :)
