Granted, Mixed Chicks is a corporation and big company, but that doesn't mean that they still don't struggle. No one wants to see the product that they've worked hard for be ripped from underneath them. Sad thing is, Black people have flocked to the Mixed Silk brand because it's cheaper. This happens far too much in our communities.
Someone tries to actually have a good quality product and make a profit, and someone "steals" it and sells it cheaper and people eat it up.
YAY for Mixed Chicks for holding their own and fighting! I'm interested to see what happens!

Hmmm...I'm not sure they think they are part of "our" community especially with the #teamlightskin tweets they made on twitter back in January. Unless they have some special sauce or copyrighted / trademarked ingredient in their product, this case has no merit on their end. That's why they specified they wanted to come to an agreement soon instead of a fight. I like the Mixed Chicks leave in but its not accessible to me unless I order it. So buying Mixed Silk at Sally's is a more afforable and accessible option. Perhaps they can agree to sell at Sally's.
ReplyDeleteI hope it will cause them to rethink their prices. I would love to support Mixed Chicks, but I'm on a budget. I'm to the point where I'm MAKING a lot of my hair products from scratch. Sally is "the man" and I'm not really in a hurry to buy their product either. Sigh. I don't know...

ReplyDeleteI've never tried their products and many 4b kinky naturals don't appreciate their products, so I doubt I'll ever use them.
