My mother gave this amazing book and I wanted to share some tips with you all. The book is simply called "Vinegar" by Vicki Lansky. It has over 400 various uses of vinegar and since vinegar is also a food ingredient I thought how perfect is this information.
Let me first give you some background information on vinegar. Vinegar means "sour wine" resulting from wine being exposed to bacteria in the air . It eventually ferments and turns into vinegar. It has been used for many different things for thousands of years.
Okay now on to the helpful tips. It was vey hard to pick out which ones to share today, so I was thinking I may do this periodically. Okay here we go...the top 5 for today.
1. Add a tablespoon or two of white vinegar to water when boiling eggs to help keep them from cracking and to limit the whites from leaking, if the shells crack.
2. Shine up chrome sink fixtures that have lime buildup with a vinegar paste made of 2 tablespoons salt and 1 teaspoon distilled vinegar.
3. Condition hair, add shining highlights and fight dandruff by using vinegar as a rinse after shampooing. A solution of 1 cup vinegar (or apple cider vinegar) to 2 cups water. FYI - I love this!
4. Spray or splash some white vinegar on trash bags left outside that don't flt into trash cans. It will keep outdoor critters away from the trash bags.
5. Wash new clothes with 1/2 cup white vinegar added to the water to eliminate manufacturing chemicals.
I hope you find these tips useful. If you try any of them, please let me know how that work! Until next time...
