Blending Your #Naturalhair with a Wig: Part 1, Hair Color

So dyeing your hair is in no way, shape, or form a requirement for blending the wig or a weave to your natural hair. It was a culmination of many personal reasons for me.

1) I ordered the wig in a 1 instead of a 1B that would have matched my hair
1a) I wanted to find ways to wear my wig in different ways and I knew that if I could match my
real hair  better, it'd be easier to do so
2) I've been wanting to dye my hair a different color any way

My plans were to run to the store today to get a semi-permanent dye, butttt I'm snowed in. We just so happened to have some hair color laying around the house that I could use so as I'm preparing to apply it, I realized that it was a permanent hair color -_-. But I was already siced to do it, so I kept going. I researched how to apply it and put it in.

Have any of you ever heard of the company Bigen? Their permanent hair color is "powder hair color" which was kind of cool. I've seen many hair stylists use it but I had my doubts. It was simple to use though and less than $6! It comes with a measuring cup and all you do is pour the powder in a non-metallic bowl, add water, and stir it! It took me about 7 mins to apply it and then because my hair is non-chemically treated, it told me to leave it in for 30 mins. After I washed it out, I applied my Shea Moisture Restorative Conditioner, put in my Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In and twisted it up!

Pic 1 is before! Pics 2 and 3 are after!

A video will be on our channel soon showing PART 2 of blending your natural hair with a wig! Stay tuned!

  1. Wow, its REALLY black! Much better results than what I've been trying to get with Henna. Hmmm, trip to the BSS is in order!

  2. @ M I N G- What color are you dyeing yours?

@ Kiianah- lol yeah it's pretty dark but the box says that it only lasts for 4 to 6 weeks, which is perfect for me, and my mom said hers doesn't last that long, so it's not really "permanent". The process was very easy, just pour the water and stir! I'll do a better review of it in a few weeks so I can report on any dry hair or breakage... but I don't think I'll have any!

OH and you may not find at it your local BSS! I've seen it only at WalMart, so I'm not sure of its availability!
