Wash Day:
- I wash once a every week with the above products. I usually wash on Saturdays. I wet my hair, apply shampoo and massage it through by combing it, section-by-section.I normally just use the shampoo once because my hair, generally, doesn't have much product build-up to the point that it needs to be shampooed often. Next I do an oil rinse using the coconut oil (PS this step is amazzingggg). I then use the conditioner and apply it the same way as I shampoo.
- I lightly squeeze the water out of my hair so that it doesn't drip all on my face and detangle with my Denman from the bottom to the front, while applying my the Deep Treatment Masque. As I detangle and apply the DC, I twist the section up. Normally, I end up with about 12 medium-to-large twists in my hair. I let the DC sit in my hair and then wash it out, while still in the twists.
- I spray on leave-in conditioner and let it air dry. Most Saturdays I'm just sitting at home so no one sees me in my twists. However, in the event that I have to go somewhere, like to the store, I throw on a hat or a beanie and try to dress it up to look presentable lol. This past week I didn't take the twists out for 2 days but when I did, I had a niceeee defined twist out that I'm still rocking 3 days later and my hair is ubbbeerrrr soft!
- My styles operate in a cycle that's like this..... Twists ---> Twist out ----> "Updo" ----> Puff ----> Wash and repeat
- I just bought a wig :) *inserts 'How You Doin' in Wendy William's voice with the matching facial expression*... prepare for a video on that once I receive it. I plan to wear it during the week and then let Freedom ring on the weekends lol
- I've worn my hair straight a few times now that it's colder, but I'm trying to retain SOME length so I'm most likely going to stop that
- I have become a big fan of sealing my hair daily. My hair is feeling sooooooooooooo moisturized for it to be the North Pole outside lol. I will either apply the Shea Moisture Hair Milk to my hair first, or spritz my hair with Aloe Vera Gel. Then I apply a dime size (okay, maybe a nickel) of Coconut Oil and then twist my hair up. Depending on what day of the style it is, I may twist it in 10 larger twists if I still want some definition, or I'll put in 4 flat twists. I sleep with a satin bonnet.
Other:
- I've used the "search and destroy" method for trimming in the past, but I still have tons of split ends -_- So whenever I see split ends, I go to the salon to get my hair trimmed.
- I love my Denman! However, I think I am going to be getting another one soon because the D3 model that I have works better when your hair is straightened. There's another one that's better and less harsh when detangling hair.
- I've been faithful with my vitamins! I'm almost onto my 3rd bottle! Which means I've been taking the vitamins for almost 50 days straight... that's a record! lol I take the One-A-Day adult multivitamins, in addition to 1000mcg of Biotin.
