A few weeks ago, I posted the below question. Thanks to everyonneee who sent in feedback! Many people suggested buying a drain catcher, so I did! I headed to Walmart yesterday and bought a bottle of Drano for $3.86 and a drain/hair catcher for $2.50. Easy as pie!
It's not wash day yet, but the Drano cleared up my drainage issues and I can tell already that the hair catcher will catch the hair when I'm washing it. The hair catcher is a covering for your tub that you place right over "the place where the water goes away it" (LOL I don't know what it's called). It has suction so that it holds in place and has holes in it to allow water to go through it, but not your hair. The hair will assemble at the base of your tub for you to scoop out and throw away. This literally made my dayyyyy, y'all! I'm so excited to wash my hair now lol

Does anyone else have the problem of a clogged sink/tub that results from your detangling sessions in the shower? I've gone through a bottle of Drano this month and just wanted to get you all's advice of what to do.I detangle about once a week or once every week and a half, so that's probably a good amount of hair shed that ends up clogging up my tub. It's sooooo frustrating!!!
Any tips?
I just recently bought a drain cover to catch the hair!
ReplyDeleteThe drain cover is an awesome idea. I'd say try to run some hot water down the drain throughout the week to help the flow, and don't wait until you have a clog to flush with Drano, either.
ReplyDeleteIf you still keep getting clogs, the Drano might not be completely working by itself. Do you have a plunger? Yes, I know it's gross, but sometimes to get rid of clumps of hair (matted with gunk and conditioner), you need to suck it up and not push it down, lol.
drain cover! best thing that has ever happened to me. especially since I live on campus and 3/4 of us is natural, lol
