Curlformers: Take 1!

These photos are late, but that's okay! LOL

Last week for Easter, I decided I was ready to try a full set on Curlformers. I had previously bought 1 pack of the short and narrow curlformers and tried them on my bangs and loveeedddd them! So I went to 2 DIFFERENT Sally Beauty Supply stores, however, they were all out of the short and narrow. Someone on YouTube suggested that I get the short and wide curlformers, and another person suggested getting the long and ___ because with it being such an investment ($12.99 per pack), you may as well get the ones for long hair so that your hair doesn't outgrow them too quick. So that's what I did.

I used:
  • 1 pack of the short and wide (pink and orange)
  • 1 pack of the short and narrow (green and blue)
  • 1 pack of the long and wide (pink and orange)
  • 'Lotta Body setting lotion in a spray bottle
  • Crocodile clips
  • Wide tooth comb

I washed,  DCed, and detangled my hair to set it. My hair was damp when I set it.

Here's my hair once I took the Curlformers off the next day. You can see the difference in the curls from the narrow curlformers and the wide curlformers. I used the short and narrow in the front which yielded a more crisp, tighter look. The wide ones made my curls really puffy.

Which explains what happened here. The front had potential. The rest... not so much. My hair gradually became a big puffy mess as the day went on. We also had a sunrise service, so some of my hair was still barely, but slightly, damp.

I still like the Curlformers and still use them consistently. I have finally grasped how to use them without them getting stuck in the rod lol. I actually tried them on blown out hair (I blew my hair out to trim my ends) last night and will post my "Curlformers: Take 2" experience later this week.
