NEW SERIES: "What's In A Product?"

A brilliant idea for a series just smacked me in the head. It was spurred by a recent comment on the blog about misunderstandings of products that are bad for natural hair. It can be overwhelming being a new natural because all of a sudden, people are shoving tons of product/ingredient names that are now bad for natural hair.

Some things get generalized and then we get comments like "all alcohols are bad for your hair", or "mineral oil will suck the moisture from your hair", without fully understanding. Granted, I'm not scientist and am definitely not claiming to be, I'm willing to be a "Google Scientist" lol.

*Fast forwards to the point*
Each week or two, I'll choose a product that I use, Sierra uses, or that many naturals use, and dissect it's ingredient list. I'll let you know in layman's terms, what the purpose of each thing is. For those products that have 02312421423143 ingredients, I'll research the top 5-7 ingredients, as those are the ones with the highest concentrations in it (the higher an ingredient is on the ingredient list, the more it is used in the product).

HERE'S WHERE YOU COME IN!!! One of the best ways to know what to do when it comes to your hair is to be informed about what you're actually putting on it! Post any products/product lines that you would like me to "dissect" below!!
