Product Review: Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie!

By the title alone, you should already know that I have great things to say about this product, purely because it's made by Shea Moisture! I can't say I've ever had a negative thing to say about this company...

*Fast forwards to the point*

We were sent the Curl Enhancing Smoothie (CES) back in late January to try out. I had heard many people talk about it and was super excited to try it out. However, it sat on my shelf for a little bit because I just didn't think it was all that great. I noticed some product build up and decided it wasn't for me.

But if you know my love for Shea Moisture, then you know that I couldn't quit on it lol. I continued to try and integrate it into my products that I consistently use, and have seen success! I think the product build up was from:
1) Using too much of it
2) Combining my use of it with the Eco Styler, which flakes me up lol

I now use the CES in conjunction with the Shea Moisture Hold And Shine Moisturizing Mist which will help hold the curls, while adding a little water to compensate for my overapplication of the CES, if that makes sense. The mist can kind of dilute an area where the CES was applied to much.

Overview:
My hair seems to be much more curly when I use the CES, than when I don't. My hair is softer and fluffier too. The product claims to minimize frizz, and I definitely agree! My hair overall seems more tamed and put together when I use this product. It sets my curls great and I am a fan! :)

Here are some pictures to show you the difference in my braid out when not using the CES and when I do. Notice the ends in the first two pictures, in comparison to the last 2 o_O. The yellow and black are times when I didn't use the smoothie. The pink is when I did use it.

This product can be purchased at your local Target, local Walgreens, or at the retailers' online websites. It is $9.99 and will last you FOREVER!
NOTE: This is not a curl definer. It will enhance your curls by providing moisture to them and helping to kind of "tame" them, which works to eliminate the frizz, therefore "enhancing" your curls. If you're looking for a product to define your curls try Kinky Curly Curling Custard, Eco Styler Olive Oil Gel, or Jane Carter Solution's Curl Defining Cream.
