With season 3 of the show ending and after seeing the trailers for Basketball Wives LA, this is the perfect time to end my relationship with the series.
For some reason, I've always liked Shaunie O'Neal and always rooted for her. I believe that's what got me hooked on watching. BUT, like she has now realized, the series has been a downward spiral and I can no longer be apart of those that are egging it on.
I watched part 1 of the reunion show this week in disgust. I can no longer stomach the filth of this show. Grown WOMEN acting like highschoolers! And the audience filled with black women who wanted to see fights just made it worse.
Yes-- to some it's not that serious, it's just a show, but when you're like me and you work with children day in and day out and see how this filth trickles down into the youth of today who are our hope for tomorrow, it makes you really evaluate your role in supporting it.
So I, for one, will be no longer watching. I encourage others to join. When the show sees a downfall in viewership, then maybe the show will change. As for now, we can't expect things to change when we encourage the fights.

Hey I completely agree. I decided to stop watching the show after trying to watch part one of the reunion show. I had to change the channel after I felt like I was losing brain cells!
ReplyDeletei completely agree as well. it's a hot mess. this show does nothing but add to the countless number of reality shows that make black women look foolish.
