Here are the rules with my commentary:
- NO HEAT-I don't use heat now that I have my straight wig for when I get the itch to straighten.
- NO cutting (unless you have to eliminate single strand knots)- I went through my hair Sunday to see if it needed to be trimmed and it didn't so I should be good for the next 3 months.
- NO dry brushing/combing- I do this sometimes, so I'll stop lol.
- Handle your hair with care
- Wash when NECESSARY- I wash once a week and will continue to do so. That's when it is necessary for me.
- Deep conditioning 2x a month- Ehh. I don't necessarily DC because I pre-poo BUT I'll do it 2x a month.
- Sealing moisture into the hair to eliminate breakage and dryness- CHECK! I just bought a new jar of coconut oil to help me do this.
- Keeping ends tucked and in styles that are low maintenance- I am going to keep my hair cornrowed underneath the wigs for the next 3 months.
- Taking vitamins and drinking ample amounts of water- CHECK! This co-insides with the #teamhealthyliving challenge so this should be easy!
Style Options:
- Buns
- Twists
- Braided updos
- Full weave installs (where hair is SEWN NOT GLUED)
I plan to continue to wear my wigs but wear my hair cornrowed underneath. My growth so far has been pretty good and I'm pretty happy at the length that I've retained.
I pre-pooed, shampooed, oil rinsed, and conditioned Saturday night and when I checked for split ends (I haven't trimmed in a few months), I didn't see any. WHOOOHOO!!! I will probably never go back to using a detangling tool (at least until my hair gets longer).
My hair is already braided up for the week, but when I wash it this week I will take pics of my growth and possibly do a length check video!
How coincidental. Hairscapades is doing a hair challenge too. I've seen 3 of these popping up around the web so far.

I'm down! My hair is currently in box braids. . let's do this! lol
