Today's Menu: Lombardi Food & Wine Experience

I haven't talked about work much, nothing out of the ordinary going on until yesterday. Let me tell you about a day in the life of a Bakery Event Assistant. Yesterday, I took part in the Lombardi Food & Wine Experience.  This culinary charity event marks it's 8th year here in Milwaukee, WI.  It was a night of wine tasting, sampling great food, and desserts all for a great cause: fighting cancer.

I actually did more viewing than I did tasting... I was working at our table. Classy Girl Cupcakes (my employer) was asked to be apart of this fundraising event. So what where my responsibilities?? As a event assistant, I was responsible for going to the bakery, loading my Jeep with cupcakes and the display, settings up our table at the hotel, and stand there all night smiling and chatting about cupcakes.  Not bad right??...and I got to eat and sample wine all night.  I love my job! LOL

So after I got home, I realized that until 2 days ago, I had never heard about this event.  If I wasn't working, this is something that my husband and I would have liked to attend.  How often do you all check and see what's going on in your city?? I must admit,  I don't check often enough.

Life is too short and you don't always have to travel out of town to enjoy yourselves. Take advantage of the things that's going on around town....and you just may find out that you can eat and drink for a good cause.
