Hey everybody. SO this past weekend was my big 3 0 and I can admit that I was not looking forward to it. I know so many people who have told me that this milestone will have you thinking and boy were they right. I have been on 100% since Sunday. I'll give you some details on that, but let me tell you about what I did.
On last Thursday, I went out with some of the physician residents at my job and we had a great time. We went to a local restaurant, which is known for their margaritas. I can tell you that they are right on point. Since I had to rush from work, go get a rental car from the airport, go home and change, I didn't really indulge. Nevertheless, I had a blast.
On Friday, I had a million things planned. Went to get a facial, got cupcakes, got my hair braided, dinner plans and then party afterwards. No need to tell you guys how some of the things did not go as planned (lol), but it was a success. I ended up skipping dinner at the restaurant that I had made reservations at and going straight to the night club to eat and have a great time with friends. I'm not sure if it's the new age or what, but I ended the night at around 12 midnight. A sistah was getting sleepy.
On Saturday I just chilled with my best friend and her family at a bridal expo, where I ate myself into a very unhealthy state. Which will be my reason for the upcoming detox I plan on doing (let me know if you want to join). Anyhoo... I had a really nice laid back day.
On Sunday (the big day), I had an absolute great time. Never mind the fact that I was offered a lap cover at church (my dress was not that short) or that I was rushing half the day. I got more "happy birthdays" than I could have ever imagined and I was thankful for each and every one of them. I went out to eat with friends and ended the weekend on a great note.
All in all, my 30th birthday was a success and I have a lot of things to do on this new journey. I have pictures, but can't post them (i'll try again). Details on the bus driver, from the first post, next week (juicy). Ciao!!!
LOL @ the lap cover, I didn't know that really happened until I watched Real Housewives of Atlanta last week & saw Phaedra pull out that cloth!
ReplyDeleteLOL... I may need to watch that episode, because my church has never pulled out one. There were times that there should have pulled out two (lol). I will not wear that dress again.
