6 Money-Saving Apps

Smartphones have become a staple in our lives, so why not put them to work! Here are 6 smartphone apps to make your shopping easier and save you money:

Key Ring

(iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone)

From the website: “Use it to scan & store your existing loyalty cards, enroll in new loyalty programs, and access exclusive coupons and discounts.”

This app allows you to use your store loyalty cards without having to store them all in your wallet or worrying about forgetting them at home.

PriceGrabber
(iPhone/iPad, Android)
From the website: “Quickly find the lowest price on millions of products from thousands of online merchants.”

Use this app to comparison shop for products online. Scan a barcode or search by name for an item and find out what site has the best price (including shipping and tax!)

Shop Savvy
(iPhone, Android, Windows Phone)
From the website: “ShopSavvy is a personal shopping companion for smartphone users. The application enables consumers to scan the UPC, EAN or QR barcodes of products they want to buy and do immediate, in-store price comparisons with local and online retailers.”

The app also allows you to look up online reviews or special promotions, create wish lists of items you are dying to have, and purchase products directly from your phone.

Gas Buddy
(iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone)
From the website: “Locate gas stations near you and see their current gas prices.”

Enter your zip code or city and find the cheapest gas near you. If you don’t have one of the devices listed above, you can also go to the Gas Buddy mobile site.

Cell Fire
(iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone)
From the website: “Cellfire is the premier destination for valuable savings on groceries, shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. With Cellfire, you'll never have to print, clip, or forget your coupons again!”

Use the app to search for deals and coupons, and from there you can either save coupons on your phone to present at the register when you make a purchase, or load grocery coupons onto your grocery store loyalty cards so they are applied automatically when you swipe your card.

Grocery IQ
(iPhone/iPad, Android)
From the website: “Grocery iQ is an intuitive shopping list that allows you to build new lists quickly with features like predictive search and barcode scanning.”

Use Grocery iQ to create, organize, and print or email your shopping list. Also, the app allows you to print and email coupons.

Happy Shopping!
