Quits From Coffee... For This Week

So y'all know that I have been following a vegetarian (well, sometimes veggie, sometimes pescatarian) diet since January, and that jump start to eating healthier is still a work in progress, but it has definitely made me re-evaluate what I have been eating and drinking.

One of the biggest things that is consistently in my diet is COFFEE! I'm a coffee maniac. I'm, sadly, a workaholic and it causes me to stay up really late, so because of that, I get no sleep and barely have energy to actually do my job lol, so I lean on coffee to get me through.

It does the job, but I pour 2 tablespoons, at the least, of sugar in my coffee, on top of creamer and whipped cream. Add that up over the week, and that's a lot of sugar that can eliminated.

So for this week, I'm going to wean myself off coffee and see the differences.

I had no coffee today and had my usual amount of sleep, and surprisingly, I wasn't sleepy, was actually more efficient at school, left earlier than usual, and was generally more happier. Hopefully, the same will occur for the rest of the week and I'll wean myself off coffee...

Now, I probably need to tackle the real problem.... The fact that I'm a workaholic and get no sleep -_____-

  1. Wow! You go! I've been skipping meat for Lent, and am trying to drink less coffee (yeah, I add too much sugar and cream, too). I'm proud of you!

  2. Good job! You may find that having a diet with more fruits and vegetables and less starchy and meat foods will help with your energy levels. Your body doesnt have to spend as much time breaking down all that meat and stuff.
