What Stereotype Should Disappear in 2011?

This week's Tweetin Thursdays question was: "What stereotype of Black people would you like to see disappear in 2011? How do you think it can be changed?"

Here's what you all said! ALSO, you can now find the week's question on the right side of the site!

--That you don't have to be "MIXED" to have "GOOD HAIR"! Once I became natural (6yrs) the whole IGNORANT mind set of "GOOD HAIR" went out the window. But I hate when people see my dark skin and see my hair when I do a w&g and ask "are you mixed w/ anything?" Soo ignorant!

--Soooo many it's hard to choose just one. I would like for blk folks to start being a reflection of the progress from the struggle that so many died for so that we can live "free".

--That we all eat fried chicken, collard greens and chitterlings. Some of us actually try to be healthy

--That we're always late...we all can work on being punctual, even when we're not penalized for being tardy to the party! ;-)

--All Blacks are not ghetto or hood! And all Black men will not have a criminal record!

--ALL but we have to stop trying to be accepted based on others thought of what is beatiful, etc. We must embrace our unique make up...

--For black women- we all don't have aggressive overbearing attitudes; sometimes we're portrayed in very negative ways.

--I want people to stop thinking we all only listen/produce rap/r&b--shoot we invented rock'n'roll, know ur history lol

Great answers! What ways do you think we can do to stop the growth of these stereotypes?
