Why'd You Go Natural?

This week's Tweetin Thursdays question was:

"Why'd you go natural?"

--

--I was curious about my natural texture.

--Decided 1 day last summer tht i didnt feel like straightening it anymr.was also time for a new look lol #naturalhair

--I went natural to have options and bc I was curious as to what my hair was like relaxes free.

--I am in the process - I have two girls 1 & 3 and I look at them and LOVE their hair and how can I say you should keep it this way and not perm it when mine is permed? Who is the better role model me or Beyonce?

--My hair is prone to frizziness..whether natural or relaxed! Why pay $65 for a relaxer when my hair doesn't wanna relax! Plus I LOVE my coil pattern. So I decided to embrace the nappiness and I'm loving it.

--I run track at my school, and being on a college budget and an athlete does not mix. I love being able to wet my hair, sweat with no shame, and not have to worry about getting my hair done over paying for a meal

--i got tired of damage from relaxers and i researched and learned..not just about hair but about my history and culture and how hair's tied 2 it..plus, i cant be proud of my natural looks with relaxed hair, it's a contradiction :)

--I wanted something different; I didn't get burns from relaxers, I just loved how thick my hair was in between relaxers. I also hated that my hair would break off so easily. I started out just wanting to take better care of my hair during a relaxer stretch and ended up wanting to get my natural texture back.

--At the time I had short hair and was tired of getting partials every 2 weeks!

--An example for my daughter - I can rock my hair multiple styles :) Last week she stated, "Mommy, your hair looks just like mine" It has been 20 months, still transitioning, but loving my choice!

--I went natural because I got tired of hiding behind my hair and clinging to it to feel pretty. I also got tired of all the chemicals that used to maintain my hair.

--I chose to go natural after watching the movie Good Hair! Besides my hair is naturally beautiful.

  1. The whole relaxer process from the actual relaxer, to the dryer, to the blow out was PAINFUL lol.
