Hair and Life Updates: 7/21/11

Hey Everyone! It's supposed to be 10 million degrees Fahrenheit just about ANYWHERE today! I hope you're keeping cool inside somewhere!!

No hair related posts today! I'm still searching for some inspiration!!! lol

HAIR UPDATES: 

• I took my wig (pictured) off for a few days to breathe and gaze at my growth lol. My "wet n wavy" wig turned 4 weeks on Tuesday and it's just about time for her to kick the bucket. The hair is somewhat matted and tangled (nothing that water and my Denman can't fix), but it looks more like my hair now because the curls are frizzed out and less defined. I'm going to estimate that I've retained about 0.5 inch to 1 inch since May, so I'm satisfied with my current protective styling.
  
• I'm going to be swimming a lot during the next couple of days, so I'm going to just rock my puff until Sunday. Over the weekend, I'm going to make another wig, with the same hair, to wear for the next month. August is going to be a TOUGH month for me (explanation is below)! Once I retain about 1.5 inches more, I'll start wearing my hair out more. As for this week, I"ll just be wearing the puff and DCing. SIMPLE!
  
  
• I'm thinking about highlighting my hair before school starts! I've had 1500 million people tell me I look like a teenager, this week. I'm thinking that some color will add a few years to my look? lol. I'm dreading Back to School Night when parents say, "UH, YOU'RE MY CHILD'S TEACHER? YOU'RE 15."

LIFE UPDATES: 

• You know that car that I got in an accident in? Yeahhhh, well. I killed her *hangs head in shame*. LONG STORY! BUT, God is so on time because He's blessing me with the capability of buying a brand new car next week. My previous car was a 1996 Corolla! CAN WE SAY "UPGRADE OVERDUE"? lol
  
  
• It's TEACHER TIME!! I've already been pulling and researching 3rd grade curriculum, but August kicks off a full month of team meetings, professional development, teacher orientation, on top of setting up/organizing my classroom! Given my high anxiety and need to overanalyze everything, I'm surprisingly calm! I'm praying for calmness and trusting God every step of the way!
  
  
• On a lighter note, my mom and I have become addicted to driving up to DC every week to get a pound of shrimp. It's just SOOOOOOOO good! We need lives! lol
  
  
• Life's just- GREAT! Like, I'm just in a happy place that I would've never predicted being in, this time last year or even last month.
